The Rotterdam Law Network was founded in 1995 on the initiative of the Erasmus University Rotterdam. The aim of the Rotterdam Law Network is cultivating existing and establishing new contacts between the law departments of the member universities. Since its formation, the Rotterdam Law Network has grown to include more than 30 member universities. These include universities from EU member states, EU candidate states as well as from the European Economic Area. The Network is steadily growing by gaining new members.
What we organize
Student and staff exchanges.
Interuniversity Conferences: Organize and participate in interuniversity conferences where academics, researchers, and students converge to present research, exchange ideas, and forge collaborations in the realm of legal research.
Collaborative research projects: Foster joint research efforts between universities to address complex legal issues. By pooling our strengths, we can generate profound insights and contribute to the development of legal thought.
Guest lectures and seminars: Invite leading legal experts for guest lectures and seminars. This provides both students and academics the opportunity to connect with eminent thinkers and practitioners in the legal field.
Joint publications: Collaborate on joint publications and academic articles to promote the dissemination of knowledge and research. The Rotterdam Law Network for Universities serves as a platform to facilitate joint publications and enhance the impact of research.
Activities of the Network encompass an exchange on all levels: student exchange, staff and teaching mobility. Participants of the annual meetings comprise deans, professors and international coordinators of the law faculties of the member universities. These reflect the Network’s aspiration to simultaneously function on an academic, political and administrative level.
