Introducing EIT Culture & Creativity
EUR is a core partner in EIT Culture & Creativity, the ninth and newest Knowledge and Innovation Community (KIC) of the European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT). KICs are large-scale, pan-European partnerships united around a central societal challenge, bringing together partners from education, research, business, civil society, and public authorities.
Established in 2023, EIT Culture & Creativity aims to fundamentally change the cultural and creative sectors and industries (CCSI) towards new understandings of competitiveness, resilience and sustainable economic growth. With headquarters in Cologne, Germany, six co-location centres (including one in Amsterdam), and 50+ partners from 20 countries representing all parts of the CCSI, EIT Culture & Creativity has the potential to be a turbo booster for EUR to expand its EU and international reach and influence and position itself as a thought leader in Arts, Culture and Creativity.
The KIC has identified five priority areas:
- Fashion
- Architecture
- Cultural Heritage
- Audiovisual
- Gaming
With strategic objectives targeting education, innovation, and business creation, regular calls for proposals, and other initiatives and activities, EIT Culture & Creativity offers a range of opportunities for EUR researchers and practitioners to:
- expand their networks, exchange knowledge and best practices, and identify new project partners;
- increase the European and international visibility of their work; and
- access new funding streams and other support for educational programmes, close-to-market innovations, and new CCSI business ventures.
