On Friday 24 March 2019 at 16.00 hour, Prof. Evert Stamhuis, Professor of Law & Innovation at Erasmus School of Law, will give his inaugural lecture in the Aula of Erasmus University Rotterdam. The title of his inaugural lecture is: 'TOURING on the RIVER: LAW, LAWYERS and SMART TECHNOLOGIES'
Attributing rights and obligations to robots is a hotly debated issue. It represents one of the many research topics that emerge when studying the interaction between law and innovative technology. In the lecture this debate shall be summarized and evaluated, by addressing the why-, the what- and the when-question of individual subject status in law for smart devices.
