Biography

As Junior Researcher, Maryam is responsible for conducting research on a variety of challenges, often relating to spatial planning and urban mobility. She enjoys contributing to research projects by designing and carrying out data collection, analysing and visualizing data, and synthesizing findings into clear and objective reports. Maryam is also involved in education as a thesis supervisor.

  • Policy instrument – The life cycle of Rotterdam’s business terrains

    The project provides insight into the life cycle of business terrains in Rotterdam, across different sectors. We develop a dashboard to aid policy- and decision-making, using a combination of data including the LISA business register.

  • Location factors of the circular economy

    The project provides insight into the location characteristics of current circular businesses in the Netherlands, especially in and around cities. The aim is to enable policy makers at different levels to better plan and reserve space for the circular economy. We use a combination of data, including surveys, the LISA business register, and interviews. Deliverables include a report and a dashboard intended for policymakers.

  • Stargate

    The mission of Stargate is to develop, test and deploy a set of innovative solutions making aviation and airports significantly greener and more sustainable. The consortium consists of 22 European partners including airports, airlines, mobility & knowledge institutes and local authorities.

  • The city as a walk-in closet - how urban trends influence personal use of space

    This project focuses on an underexposed aspect of human activities in the city: stuff. Through literature research, interviews with experts and scenario analysis, the study explores possible developments and their consequences for the government and the market.

  • Electric vehicle charging in Europe

    The aim of the project is to provide an overview of the state of art of electric vehicle charging infrastructure in Europe, and to discuss the potential role of the parking sector. To this end, we use desk research, semi-structured interviews, and survey data.

  • Erasmus Goes Green

    The Erasmus Goes Green project aimed to increase environmental awareness of mobility and to encourage more sustainable internationalization strategies at higher education institutions.
