An overview of the existing projects that are connected to the Erasmus Centre of Law and Digitalization.
The Digital Governance project (DIGOV) is the name of the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence that has been awarded by the European Commission to Erasmus School of Law, in conjunction with the Law School of the University of Leeds (UK) and the Law School of Bar-Ilan University (Israel). The Digital Governance project (DIGOV) asks which rules and norms are needed to enable Big Data and Artificial Intelligence to fully support our individual and societal interests.
Project leaders: Prof. Klaus Heine and Prof. Evert Stamhuis.
Artificial Intelligence for Multi-Agency Public Safety (AI MAPS) adopts a freedom and social well-being perspective and focuses on three themes to address key security challenges:
Social disorder and public nuisances in neighbourhoods;
High-impact crime;
Crowds and events.
AI algorithms can support institutions in making decisions and taking public safety measures. AI MAPS focuses on the ethical, legal and social aspects of AI (ELSA) development and application - to prevent the solution from being worse than the problem.
The Center for Law, Design, and AI within Convergence AI builds upon the interdisciplinarity and collaborative strengths of Erasmus University Rotterdam and TU Delft to explore new research opportunities at the intersection of legal and design processes, exploiting the latest innovations in AI. The Center develops new concepts, tools, and workflows to enrich, optimize, and democratize legal systems, services, and practices. The aim is to make the law more accessible and transparent for a more equitable society.
The Center for Responsible AI for Healthcare places patients and society at the center by joining forces and combining strengths, knowledge and expertise of EUR, Erasmus MC and TU Delft. The center crosses disciplines such as technology, ethics, business, science, medical science, law and social sciences
