On May 21, 2019, the annual Review Day was held by the Erasmus Graduate School of Law (EGSL).
EGSL director professor Klaus Heine opened the meeting by mentioning that at the Review Day we are celebrating the achievements of the new badge of EGSL PhD-researchers. Referring to EGSL’s aim to a mark of excellence, he mentioned EGSL’s achievements of last year: Hora Finita live from May 21 onwards, several achievements with regard to internationalization, the development of the digital educational programme, the conference “Building the Brand YOU”, organized by PhD researchers etc.
Klaus Heine thanked Karin van Wingerde and Wouter Verheyen, who will stop their role as PhD coordinator, for their excellent work and awarded them a (chocolate) medal for their outstanding service!
This year, the Research Programmes presented themselves to the audience, and thereafter ten PhD researchers gave pitches on their doctoral research projects. The PhD researchers answered questions and discussed with the audience. The presentations were given by Oleksiy Shmatko, Irma Cleven, Anna Merz, Ruben Timmerman, Lester Chen, Elif Yilmazlar, Heleen Tiemersma, Josje de Vogel, Roy Heesakkers, Fiona Unz and Amber Zwanenburg.
During the break and the drinks afterwards Marlies Blesgraaf, Sarah van Os, Yayi Zhang, Maurits Helmich, Priskila Penasthika and Elif Yilmazlar presented their research on a poster. A lively debate emerged.
The afternoon was concluded with drinks and informal talks between the PhD researchers, supervisors and other members of Erasmus School of Law.
