Professor Xandra Kramer has been appointed as general professor of Private International Law by Utrecht University. She will be occupying this position one day a week with effect from 1 November.
Professor Xandra Kramer is currently employed as endowed professor of European Civil Procedure at Erasmus School of Law. In addition to this, Professor Kramer will be taking up an appointment as general professor of Private International Law at Utrecht University with effect from 1 November 2016 where she will be engaged in research and education alike.
Professor Kramer’s expertise lies in the field of international procedural and patrimonial law. Her research will mainly focus upon European codification of Private International Law, the regulatory aspects of the international law of obligations, and the interaction between substantive European law and private international law. With respect to her educational duties, Professor Kramer will lecture in Private International Law for the master programme and be involved in the Honours programme.
Professor Kramer is looking forward to this new challenge and collaborating with her colleagues at the Department of Law at Utrecht University. Her research and education duties at Erasmus School of Law concern European and international procedural law, and she will continue to perform a large part of these duties with her customary enthusiasm. As Xandra Kramer herself says: “I have every expectation that the interaction between my work and my two positions will be of immense benefit to all parties.”

About Professor Xandra Kramer
Professor Xandra Kramer is an international expert in the field of private international law and European procedural law. She was awarded a prestigious Vidi subsidy by the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) in 2010 for her research entitled ‘Securing Quality in Cross-Border Enforcement’, concerning European quality guarantees for civil case law.
