Prof. Martin de Jong has been appointed professor of Dynamics of Inclusive Prosperity

Erasmus University Rotterdam aims to bring science and society closer together through three so-called 'Erasmus Initiatives'. One of these, Dynamics of Inclusive Prosperity, is the joint research initiative of Erasmus School of Law and Rotterdam School of Management.

It involves the desire to enable as many members of society as possible to benefit from sustainable economic growth. The programme covers all activities, mechanisms and processes from the present, past and future that result in this pursuit.

As scientific director of the Initiative - under the boards of Erasmus School of Law and Rotterdam School of Management - Prof. De Jong manages the scientific research team, which consists of staff from both the aforementioned faculties and Erasmus School of Philosophy. Prof. De Jong will also explicitly approach relevant external partners outside the university to participate and will be able to take further steps in the field of fundraising.

Prof. Martin de Jong obtained his PhD at Delft University of Technology in 1999 on Institutional transplantation; how to adopt good transport infrastructure decision making ideas from other countries? For instance, he was Antoni van Leeuwenhoek Research Professor at TU Delft. He also worked part-time at various foreign universities, most recently as a 1000 Talent Programme Professor at Fudan University in China.

Since 2016, Prof. de Jong has been a guest lecturer at Erasmus School of Law. At present, he combines his professorship at Erasmus School of Law (0.5 FTE) with the same position at Rotterdam School of Management (0.5 FTE).
