Emanuel van Praag appointed as member of Expert group 'European Financial Data Space'

The Expert group advises the European Commission's Directorate-General for Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union on data exchange in the financial sector. Van Praag, Professor of Financial Technology and Law at Erasmus School of Law, advises as an independent expert on the preparation of legislative proposals and policy initiatives on these topics to promote the creation of a common financial data space in the European Union.

Van Praag is an expert in financial technology and approaching new business models and techniques from the legal context. He is looking forward to his new position within the Expert group 'European Financial Data Space': "The use of Big Data and Open Finance are the spearheads of my chair. It is, therefore, an honour to provide the European Commission with my insights on precisely those subjects."
In addition to his appointment as a committee member and his academic position at Erasmus School of Law, Van Praag is involved as a senior fellow at the International Center for Financial Law and Governance (ICFG) and works as a lawyer for financial (supervision) law at HVG Law LLP.
