Arnoud Pijls

Arnoud Pijls will be appointed as Professor of European and Comparative Financial Law at Radboud University's Faculty of Law by 15 July 2024. In addition, Pijls will remain associated with Erasmus School of Law as a guest lecturer and doctoral thesis supervisor of Mathijs Giltjes.

In his new role, Pijls will research the further development of European financial supervisory law in the coming years. “Key areas I will focus on are the European Capital Markets Union, the Single Resolution Mechanism, Sustainable Finance and ESG and the regulation of technological developments in the financial sector”, Pijls said.

Pijls will remain associated with Erasmus School of Law as a guest lecturer and Mathijs Giltjes' doctoral thesis supervisor and reflects: "I look back on my time at Erasmus School of Law with gratitude. I learned many important lessons here and had the opportunity to work with very talented and driven colleagues. My special thanks go to my supervisors Maarten Kroeze, Siewert Lindenbergh and Helene Vletter-van Dort and to Anja van Garderen, the programme coordinator of the master's programme Business Law.”
