Overview of English taught courses
In addition to the courses offered at Erasmus School of Law, students may also follow courses at the Erasmus School of Social and Behavioural Sciences. Our courses are scheduled per Master programme as a result combining courses from different Master programmes may result in a conflicting schedule.
Criminology
Please note that the number of criminology courses is limited. In order to obtain sufficient EC, Criminology students may follow our LL.M. courses as well, provided that they have sufficient knowledge in the field of law.
In addition to the courses offered at Erasmus School of Law, students may also follow courses at the Erasmus School of Social and Behavioural Sciences.
Transfer of credits
Exchange students who, after their exchange period at Erasmus School of Law, want to enrol as regular degree students in one of Erasmus School of Law's LL.M programmes may transfer a maximum of 15 EC of the courses completed during their exchange programme to the LL.M. programme.
Extension of your exchange period
Exchange students that are staying for one semester at Erasmus School of Law can request an extension if they fulfil the requirements.
Requirements
It’s not possible to stay longer than two semesters at Erasmus School of Law.
The agreement between Erasmus School of Law and the partner university allows an extension: the number of annual places that is officially determined in the agreement has not been reached yet.
The student has completed at least 15 EC of courses (excluding the course in English legal terminology) during the first study block with an average score of at least 7.0. The results are achieved during the official exams and not during any additional assessments
-The student has a clear academic motivation and a consistent curriculum that he/she wants to follow in the second semester. The student needs to indicate this by describing the relations between the courses followed at ESL to his/her future study path in a motivational letter
Procedure
All requests for extension need to be submitted to the international office: internationaloffice@law.eur.nl and will be answered within two weeks.
