Complex societal issues such as climate change, sustainability, healthcare, urbanisation and digitalisation, can’t be solved in a monodisciplinary way. Rather, their multifaceted nature requires a holistic approach, drawing from various disciplines. Erasmus University Rotterdam believes that such challenges can only be tackled when converging disciplines to create pathways to new forms of knowledge and knowledge developments.
We have therefore joined forces with Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) and Erasmus Medical Center (Erasmus MC) in a strategic alliance, known as Convergence. By combining our knowledge, insights and methodologies, we seek to address pressing issues society is faced with. The Delta area of Rotterdam and Delft with its commerce, port, rivers and diverse population is our living lab.
