Social impact is a focal point in our Strategy2024, and sustainability is directly linked to this theme. Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR) wants to take on social challenges, by providing future oriented education, excellent research and by being involved with society.
We will focus on cooperation with our partners in the Netherlands and abroad, and work towards more interdisciplinarity in our research and education. You can read more about the development of our societal impact identity in our Strategy2024.
We have launched various sustainability initiatives in the areas of research and education, employ energy neutral and climate-friendly construction on our campus, and actively involve our students in sustainability projects. Curious about all of our sustainability initiatives? Read more here!
In the context of sustainability, we stimulate all our employees to come to campus in a way that is environmentally friendly – for example by bike or by public transport. This way, we contribute to a healthy and pleasant environment in Rotterdam and the Hague. EUR employees are entitled to a reimbursement once every five years to purchase a bike, e-bike, or e-scooter. Do you regularly bike to university? You will still receive your usual travel reimbursement.
EUR is well-connected to various routes of public transport. Nearby our main campus Woudestein in Rotterdam, a metro station, a bus station with two stops and three tram stops allow for fast and convenient transport to and from Rotterdam Centraal, Rotterdam Alexander, and Rotterdam Blaak.
