The Community for Learning & Innovation (CLI) gives lecturers from Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR) the opportunity to apply for a fellowship. With this fellowship, they research educational innovation, or carry out an educational project.
On this page you can read more about the CLI Fellowship of Colin Lee (RSM), about harmonized appraisal for generating feedback while grading.
Feedback is typically considered to be an essential component of an effective teaching and learning environment, but providing high-quality and high-information feedback is challenging. It is time-consuming, it is difficult to ensure consistency, and the scalability is low. To mitigate some of these challenges, this CLI Fellowship focuses on the development of an assessment methodology that is efficient, effective, and has a high impact on student learning, while heeding the key constraints that educators in higher education face.
Deliverables
In 2022, Colin won the RSM Innovative Teaching Award for developing the HAPP methodology. In 2024, the article on HAPP-written together with Daan Peeters, Judith Auer, Bas Giesbers and Moritz Appels-was recognised as the article with the most significant contribution to management education at the annual Academy of Management conference (click here for the news item on this award).
Since mid-2024, the HAPP software has been freely available for use within Erasmus University. For more information, see the news release about the software (click here) or visit the HAPP website (https://happ.rsm.nl).
