Extracurricular opportunities

In addition to the regular curriculum, Erasmus School of Economics offers students the opportunity to take additional workshops by our partners in practice. For instance, we organise additional soft skills trainings in collaboration with the Big-4 firms. These sessions will help you develop crucial skills that are relevant to your career and provide you with the opportunity to expand your professional network.

The thesis process is also well-structured and integrated into other courses and seminars: you will develop your thesis idea during one of your track-specific seminars and will receive guidance from your assigned thesis supervisor throughout the process. The final block of your programme is entirely dedicated to writing your thesis, which you can combine with a thesis internship at companies.

PwC Honours Master Class

For excellent and motivated students who want to go the extra mile, we offer the PwC Honours Master Class, which provides you with a competitive edge for your resume. The Honours Master is characterised by a unique combination of theory and practice in accounting, finance and auditing. The programme is developed in close cooperation with PwC and includes significant interaction with the business community through a business game during a weekend abroad, practical workshops, company visit(s), a PwC coach, internship opportunities, and plenty of opportunities for socialising and networking. You can apply for this Honours Master Class during the first weeks of the academic year, more information and insights from past students are provided during the master kick-off event.

Programme committee Accounting, Auditing and Control

Rotterdam students are known for being hardworking, engaged and outspoken. For those interested in providing constructive feedback on the courses and seminars in the master’s program, you can apply to become a student member of the Programme Committee. This participation body advises the academic director on all matters concerning the study programme. These contributions keep the faculty on their toes and allow them to incorporate students’ opinions.

Study association FSR

The study association of Accounting, Auditing and Control is FSR. Member students can take part in a variety of events and activities, such as the Big-4 cycle and international business cycle. Moreover, you can become more involved and gain valuable extracurricular experience by joining their organising committees.
