The festive presentation of the publication The living library - stories from the collections of the Erasmus University Library will take place on Tuesday March 19. The book highlights the unique objects and stories of the Erasmus University Library (UL) and the Rotterdamsch Leeskabinet, which show how the UL is a place for students, employees, Rotterdam denizens, and literature and culture lovers.
The book focuses not only on the historical, curious objects housed in the library's depositories, but also on collections and stories that are related to contemporary, socially relevant topics, such as women's emancipation, colonial history and global citizenship.
On this Tuesday we will celebrate the publication from 3 p.m. with a program of contributions from a selection of the book's authors, after which the audience can take a tour of the library, and there will be time to buy the book and have a drink.
