On March 19th 2024, the festive book presentation of the University Library’s own publication The Living Library – Stories from the Collections of the University Library will take place. In both text and images the book highlights the unique objects and stories of the Erasmus University Library and the Rotterdamsch Leeskabinet. It shows how the UL is a place for students, employees, Rotterdam denizens, and those who appreciate literature and culture.

Besides the historical, curious objects kept in the library's depository, the book also explores collections and stories related to contemporary topics in society, such as women’s emancipation, colonial history, and global citizenship.

During the book presentation a few chapters will be spotlighted and elaborated on by their authors. In case you are not already familiar with the Library there will be an opportunity to take a tour get to know it better. After the first copy is presented it will of course be possible to take a first look at the book and buy it for your own collection, all while enjoying something to drink and to snack. Would you like to attend? Please get a (free) ticket in advance through the register link.
