Connecting the city with our university by transferring knowledge on social challenges, that is the Rotterdamlezing.
The 19th Rotterdamlezing will be given by Ronald van Raak, professor of Erasmian Values, on 15 May 2023 at Debatpodium Arminius. Shared values in a society in which hardening, polarisation and fragmentation play a role are central to the lecture. It will be discussed how precisely these shared values can bring Rotterdammers closer together.
Ronald pays special attention here to Erasmus, who himself lived in a time of polarisation and a time of new media. What can we learn from Erasmus' philosophy on values and what unites us in today's Rotterdam society?
The Rotterdamlezing will be held in Dutch.
