Midsummer is the Nordic Student Association’s (NSA) version of the well-known Nordic celebration. Building upon the resounding success of this year's Midsummer party, NSA aims to create an unforgettable experience that not only celebrates the Nordic culture but also raises awareness and appreciation for its rich traditions.
The event is envisioned as a day-long celebration on the 18th of May, beginning at 12:00 PM and lasting until midnight, allowing participants to immerse themselves fully in the Nordic spirit at Kralingse Plas beach.
Traditions from Nordic cultures
At the heart of the event will be the traditional Midsummer customs from all Nordic countries. Participants will have the opportunity to partake in the enchanting dance around the Midsummer pole, weaving ribbons and crafting flower crowns, a cherished tradition symbolizing fertility and beauty.
In keeping with the Nordic tradition of wellness, a sauna experience will be offered as part of the event. Additionally, participants will relish the delectable flavors of Nordic cuisine completing the true depiction of a Nordic Midsummer and celebration of the EUR Lustrum year.
