The Student Life Officer (SLO) supports students with extracurricular activities from their start onwards, up to their becoming members of Erasmus University College alumni network. This means that the student life officer is involved as the linking pin between the boards of the EUC Student Association (EUCSA), the Student Academic Affairs Council (SAAC), the Alumni Community of EUC Students (ACES) and the management team of EUC.
The SLO is the first point of contact for student activities, and will support and advise on activities planned for and by them. The key activities concern the organization of the EUC introduction programme for new students, the Graduation Ceremony, and the annual barbecue. Smaller events take place throughout the year and the SLO will support these, occasionally supervising student assistants, and keep the overview.
The SLO is partially responsible for EUC’s exchange students (incoming and outgoing), in close cooperation with the (outgoing) exchange officer at EUR’s central Education and Student Affairs, as well as with our OSEA team.
Lastly, the SLO assists new students with their mid-August moving into and living at the EUC housing in Rotterdam, which for all first-year students.
