Rotterdam Arts & Sciences Lab (RASL) comprises a collaboration between EUC, IBACS, Codarts and Willem de Kooning Academy which makes it possible to combine your thirst both for academic and artistic knowledge.
RASL's mission is to strengthen the artistic profile of Rotterdam by combining artistic and scientific practices in relation to societal challenges. They strive to be a catalyst for interdisciplinary research by combining existing and new research fields within the artistic domain.
The Dual Degree - EUC with arts
For the first time in the Netherlands, you can choose between various complementary, in-depth, and artistic interdisciplinary study paths in a five-year Dual Degree programme, combining a Bachelor of Science at EUC and a Bachelor from either Codarts (Music) or Willem de Kooning Academy (Arts).
The RASL programme offers you the opportunity to develop your knowledge on an academic level, as well as to develop your artistic skills. After this programme you will be able to address complex and multidimensional challenges - as you will have what it takes to approach issues from different angles. In addition, your artistic practices will benefit from your theoretical knowledge about the arts, media and culture - and vice versa: your theoretical work is fueled by your experience as an artist.
The programmes are spread over 5 years, each year consisting of around 60 EC, the same amount as a regular Bachelor programme. Over the course of these five years you will be studying at both institutions simultaneously, the study load is more or less equally divided between both programmes.
As a dual degree student, you will have to apply to both institutes of your choice. Please note that each institute has its own specific admission requirements - click the links below for the respective programme requirements:
