Requirements
Only students at one of our partner universities can do an exchange semester at Erasmus School of Economics. If you have any questions about the selection process, we kindly ask you to first contact the exchange office at your home university.
Note that you need to have finished at least one year of your bachelor’s programme before you come to Rotterdam on exchange, and you also need to have done at least introductory courses in both economics and mathematics and/or statistics.
We do not accept free movers at Erasmus School of Economics.
The necessary documents
When applying to our exchange programme, please make sure you have the following necessary documents ready in time:
- A copy of your valid passport
- An official academic transcript in English, containing sufficient courses in Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Statistics and Mathematics
- Proof of your English proficiency level of at least:
- 90 TOEFL iBT (22 on all components)
- 6.5 IELTS Academic (6.5 on all components)
- 176 Cambridge C1 Advanced (CAE)
- 180 Cambridge C2 Proficiency (CPE)
- B2 Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (Only for Erasmus+ students)
NB! Only language tests taken in an examination centre are accepted. Online/Home Edition tests are NOT accepted.
If your study programme is taught in English a statement from your home university is sufficient proof. Otherwise, a certificate is required.
In addition, in the application form, we will ask for the following information:
- A proposed study curriculum (an indication of the courses you would like to follow at Erasmus School of Economics, see our course overview)
- Your motivation for studying at Erasmus School of Economics/ in Rotterdam/ in the Netherlands?
Deadlines
- The nomination deadline for the Fall semester is 15 April, the application deadline is 1 May
- The nomination deadline for the Spring semester is 15 September, the application deadline is 1 October
