Discover Rotterdam

With over 175 nationalities, our city is a cultural melting pot. It shows in the various restaurants, bars, coffee shops, lunchrooms and takeaways! Take the subway and discover the small restaurants at the Deliplein on Katendrecht or rent an e-scooter and visit the hip cafés in the Witte de Withstraat. Feel like partying? Going out is possible every weekend in Rotterdam. From clubs like Maassilo and Annabel to cozy pubs on the Nieuwe Binnenweg and Oude Noorden.

The Netherlands is among the safest countries in the world, according to the Global Peace Index. Rotterdam, like other major cities in the Netherlands, is open to a diverse range of cultures and people. Rotterdam has dozens of parks. The Kralingse Bos is the biggest park of the city and is located close to Campus Woudestein. The cozy Vroesenpark is another must in the summer months. Rotterdam is famous for its architecture and landmarks. Cycle over the Erasmus Bridge, get stellar views of the city from the Euromast or visit one of Rotterdam’s many museums.

Finding a room in Rotterdam

It is often difficult and stressful to find a room in Rotterdam, especially as a first-year student. There is an ongoing shortage of accommodations in Rotterdam. We strongly advise you to start your housing search on time and ensure that you have secured accommodation before you travel to the Netherlands.

Studying at Erasmus University

Erasmus University Rotterdam has campuses at four locations, three in Rotterdam and one in The Hague. In Rotterdam, students study, eat and play sports at an accessible, sustainable, circular and partly energy-neutral campus: Woudestein.

Dutch education is known for its high quality and standards, and top-ranking positions. Degrees obtained in the Netherlands are internationally recognised. The Netherlands is also one of the top providers of English taught courses. Our international classroom - a mix of international and Dutch students - is common across the university. In class, the atmosphere is usually informal, and it is pretty easy to speak to our professors directly.
