The Erasmus Education Lab is an open, light-filled space, equipped with several workspaces where you can work without interruption, alone or together with your team, on innovations within your education. It is also an inspiring location to share knowledge or insights with colleagues from your own faculty or other faculties or departments.
The facilities of the Erasmus Education Lab are available to lecturers and support staff of Erasmus University Rotterdam who are working on innovating education. The space regularly hosts workshops, training sessions (MicroLabs) and events.
The Erasmus Education Lab offers..
- An open, light and flexible space, centrally located on Campus Woudestein;
- A space with a staircase, perfect for presentations or kick-offs for up to 45 people;
- Tables on the side, suitable for groups of up to 8 people, ideal for (re)design sessions, workshops or project meetings;
- The possibility of using the entire space: start with a plenary presentation in the space with the stairs, then work together in different break-out groups and finish with lunch or drinks;
- Studio facilities in the heart of the space, where the production team of the Media Support Centre is ready to help you with a variety of media productions.

How to use the Education Lab
Would you like to organise an event, brainstorm or other activity in the Education Lab? Then contact us at educationlab@eur.nl. For each request, we first check whether it fits within the mission and vision of the Community for Learning & Innovation before approving or rejecting it.

Frequently Asked Questions
The space can be used free of charge by all faculties and departments of Erasmus University Rotterdam. Use for commercial activities is not possible. Each request is first checked to see whether it fits within the mission and vision of the Community for Learning & Innovation before we approve it.
Drinks from the vending machine are available without an employee card. If your party consists of more than 10 people, we recommend ordering catering via Vitam. You can find their assortment on MyEUR. Do you need help or advice? Then share your wishes and the EUR Card number (linked to the WBS number) on which the costs may be booked.
AV facilities:
- Event space: large presentation screen (using your own laptop), handheld or headset microphone, hybrid meeting unit (use on request).
- Inspiration rooms: each table has a Samsung flip screen that you can use as a whiteboard or connect to your laptop (with an HDMI cable). Given the open space, hybrid sessions are not possible
- Training room: presentation screen that can also be used as a hybrid screen with the Logitech Meetup (use own laptop and an Outlook-generated MS Teams link).
Creative materials: flipchart (event space), magic chart paper, post-its and markers are freely available for use during your session.
Education Lab spaces are not available as regular meeting rooms. If your meeting is linked to an innovation project, CLI fellowship or in preparation for a design session, then this is allowed. For meetings with other purposes, please contact Event & Room Bookings.
The Education Lab is a educational space and cannot be reserved for drinks or dinner. Please use the other facilities on campus or check with Event & Room Bookings.
Breakfast, lunch or drinks during your event related to educational innovation are allowed. Catering in the Education Lab is provided through Vitam. You can find their assortment on MyEUR. Do you need help or advice? Then share your wishes and the EUR Card number (linked to the WBS number) on which the costs may be booked.
As a student, you can share your ideas on educational innovation with Students-for-Students (S4S). S4S gives (financial) support to various student projects, but also organizes regular meetups. Projects that receive support can use the Education Lab for events and inspiration sessions.
