Can tomorrow's education still be organized on today's campus? What should the development of our campus look like? Which trends will influence how the campus is utilized? How does this align with our renewed educational vision? What do students, teachers and staff need? How could our university better facilitate studying on campus? Help us design the ideal future campus!
Future campus
The SURF Future Campus trend report highlights the social component of learning on campus and the importance of creating more spaces where students can actively participate and collaborate. But focused learning and relaxing between studying are also important. How should these learning spaces and our overall campus be designed to ensure that the teaching activities of the lecturers, the study activities of the students, and the supporting services align seamlessly and function optimally?
Creative sessions
On Monday 25 March from 13:00 to 16:00 and on Thursday 4 April from 13:00 to 16:00, we are organizing a creative session, in which we will brainstorm together about smart solutions for the physical indoor and outdoor spaces on campus. The sessions will be facilitated by the Community for Learning & Innovation, in collaboration with the Rotterdam-based innovation agency HatRabbits.
Based on the previously identified opportunities and challenges, we aim to generate original ideas and devise new ways to better facilitate studying on campus. We are trying to bring together different roles and perspectives and would value your input.
We have space for approximately 30 participants per session!
Survey
With this survey, we want to identify educational needs to better facilitate studying on campus. Responses will be collected anonymously and will be used in forming a vision on ‘future learning spaces’. Please share your valuable ideas with us!
Co-creation space
From 15 until 21 February 2024, we were present in the Theil Hall with a pop-up co-creation space. Students and employees where welcome to join and to brainstorm about their ideal campus.
