Sustainability in our Strategy

Our mission is to create positive societal impact. Taking responsibility for sustainable developments plays an important role in our Strategy 2024. On this page, you can read more about how we plan to realise our sustainable ambitions.

Sustainable Development Goals

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are the guiding principles for a better and sustainable future. They deal with global challenges and their solutions to poverty, inequality, climate change, peace and justice. As a university, we want to contribute to the SDGs by investing and innovating. In our teaching, research and business operations, we focus on specific SDGs to make our contribution more meaningful.

"We are building a dashboard that will visualise the SDGs in education and research."

Our contribution

For a specific set of goals that we as a university find most relevant and impactful, performance indicators have been developed to monitor our progress. These indicators have been developed per domain: Research, Education and Governance & Policies. Using these indicators, we measure how our research contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals. We also monitor how our student population, educational initiatives and our curriculum connect to the SDGs.

"With the information on the dashboard, we can better manage our desired profile in teaching, research and operations."

The mapping of the SDGs in education and research have been made transparent through a dashboard. This visualises how our policies, projects and scientific efforts connect to the SDGs. The dashboard contains facts and statistics about our impact and trends over the years. This information allows us to guide our teaching and research, as well as our operations.
