Job description

As Catering Officer, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality dining experiences for RSM BV students, staff, and guests. You will work closely with the Hospitality Manager and other staff, preparing, presenting, and coordinating catering events with a strong commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.

As Catering Officer, you will:

  • Support the Hospitality Manager in planning, preparing, and executing catered services for a variety of diverse events for both professional staff and our programmes attendees.
  • Set up catering stations and buffets, and clear away after events to ensure that all areas are clean and presentable.
  • Engage in effective communication with the organisation to understand event requirements and ensure that services meet expectations.
  • Monitor inventory levels, maintain supplies, and prepare orders as needed to ensure seamless event operations.
  • Act as a customer service point of contact, responding to requests and feedback to create a welcoming and professional dining atmosphere.

Ideally you:

  • Coordinate and guide temporary catering staff, including student assistants, to maintain efficient and high-quality service.

Job requirements

To excel in this position, you should be service-oriented, proactive, and ready to take ownership of your responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. You should enjoy engaging with a culturally diverse community and bringing a customer-centred approach to your work.

To be successful in this position, you will need to have the following knowledge, expertise or skills:

  • Educational level at Dutch MBO+ or equivalent in catering or hotel management.
  • At least five years of experience in a similar role, with a focus on customer service and food preparation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English, both Dutch and English preferable
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Flexibility to work outside regular working hours; approximately one evening shift each week and one Saturday shift each month.
  • Available between 32 and 40 hours a week.
