The Community for Learning & Innovation (CLI) gives lecturers from Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR) the opportunity to apply for a fellowship. With this fellowship, they research educational innovation, or carry out an educational project.
On this page you can read more about the CLI Fellowship of Maarten Knapen (Erasmus MC), aimed to identify reliable psychometric characteristics in case-based testing.
The aim of this project is to identify psychometric indicators that are associated with distinctive case based questions and distinctive analysis of the compulsory biomedical knowledge domains. In the development of the exams ('bloktoetsen'), they will introduce six case-based pilot exams in their current bachelor program (> 400 students per exam). Based on labeling of the biomedical knowledge domains and levels of Bloom, they will evaluate these large scale assessment in three separate educational courses. These evaluations may lead to an optimalised design of the exams, well aligned with the educational course and goals of ErasmusArts 2030. Hopefully this will lead to a sufficient knowledge on each biomedical domain and to a sufficient tool for quality assessments (PDCA).
