The Community for Learning & Innovation (CLI) gives lecturers from Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR) the opportunity to apply for a fellowship. With this fellowship, they research educational innovation, or carry out an educational project.
On this page you can read more about the CLI Fellowship of Saskia Hofman (ESSB) which focuses on reflective practice as a collaborative learning experience in personal and professional development.
Within the Psychology Bachelor programme reflection is an important part of their skills education. While reflection can contribute to more effective learning and professional development, they have also encountered challenges in fostering in-depth reflective skills and engagement in reflection in their students. There is a need for more practice with effective reflective learning activities and more feedback. They will therefore develop and implement a Reflective writing module in Bachelor 1, incorporating more collaborative and prompting reflective practice techniques, in line with the mARC (more Authentic, Reflective, Collaborative) instruction model (Radović, Hummel, & Vermeulen, 2023). The aim of this innovation is to improve the quality of reflection, increase student engagement in the process of reflection, and improve lifelong professional development.
