The Community for Learning & Innovation (CLI) gives lecturers from Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR) the opportunity to apply for a fellowship. With this fellowship, they research educational innovation, or carry out an educational project.
On this page you can read more about the CLI Fellowship of Susan van Rijen (ESSB) about reflective practice and self-guidance in psychology education.
What began at the start of my CLI fellowship as a targeted intervention to address gaps in students’ reflective practice and self-guidance at the Master’s level has ultimately evolved into a foundational learning line embedded throughout the entire Bachelor’s program in Psychology: Thrive Track. Thrive Track actively engages students in self-guidance and reflective practice through structured, progressive activities, such as self-assessment questionnaires at each stage, a flexible Thrive Track shop with diverse activities, and cumulative assignments focused on personal and professional skills. This developmental approach, with targeted pathways across Self-reflection & Self-management, Self-directed Learning, and Interpersonal Skills, aims to build students’ capacity for reflection, accountability, and effective self-regulation in preparation of their transition into professional practice.
