The Community for Learning & Innovation (CLI) gives lecturers from Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR) the opportunity to apply for a fellowship. With this fellowship, they research educational innovation, or carry out an educational project.
On this page you can read more about the CLI Fellowship of Katinka Dijkstra (ESSB) in which she aims to integrate societal impact into courses, equipping students with the necessary skills to tackle real-world challenges.
The education innovation project aims to integrate societal impact into courses, equipping students with the necessary skills to tackle real-world challenges. Future-proof courses, Mind in Society and Brain & Body, designed with Impact-driven Education components and inner development goals, will emphasize the necessity of solving authentic urgencies that relate to "thinking errors" such as conspiracy thinking, misinformation, and stereotypes. Students will immerse themselves in these challenges, collaborate with one another and use perspective taking to come up with interventions to improve critical thinking. Both courses will link psychological principles to societal issues to close the gap between foundational knowledge and practical applications. The project will evaluate these changes by assessing impact capacities, collaborative ability and reflective attitude over time.
