The Community for Learning & Innovation (CLI) gives lecturers from Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR) the opportunity to apply for a fellowship. With this fellowship, they research educational innovation, or carry out an educational project.

The goal of this project is to contribute to responsible use of generative AI (GenAI) in education, which is a new skill students need to be explicitly taught to incorporate their academic skills repertoire. They specifically focus on development and evaluation of a learning module “AI-wise” for academic writing. AI-wise educates students to formulate prompts, critically evaluate AI-generated text, and accurately processing AI-generated information in their own writing assignment. They investigate the effectiveness of the AI-wise module, student and teacher experiences, and student behavior using both qualitative and quantitative methods.
