The Community for Learning & Innovation (CLI) gives lecturers from Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR) the opportunity to apply for a fellowship. With this fellowship, they research educational innovation, or carry out an educational project.
On this page you can read more about the CLI Fellowship of Elbert Dijkgraaf (ESE) which analyses the integration of AI in education within the context of the master's program in Economics of Sustainability.
We analyse the integration of AI in education within the context of the master's program in Economics of Sustainability. We explored how AI could streamline the case approach by aiding in student navigation, reducing teacher workload in tasks like grading, and maintaining high academic standards. We formulated questions to address these potentials and outlined a plan to implement and evaluate AI tools over the next two academic years. The plan includes initially testing a ChatGPT-based coaching and grading assistant with the climate change case, using feedback for improvements, and gradually expanding its use to all cases while documenting the experiences and outcomes.
