Remote access to Refinitiv Eikon

This service replaces onsite access

As of September 1st, the EDSC provides remote access to Refinitiv Eikon, Refinitiv Eikon-Datastream and Morningstar. The remote access service replaces onsite access to Eikon and Eikon-Datastream in departments and personal Eikon installations. The remote access service was introduced last year for students during COVID and is now also available to staff.

Access to Eikon and Eikon-Datastream is available on three remote desktops i.e., virtual machines (VMs). Each VM uses a different Eikon account. A fourth remote desktop provides access to Morningstar. Every user can book a 4-hour time slot to work with e.g., Eikon-Datastream or Morningstar.

Booking calendars for remote access are available from here. A manual for using the remote access service is provided when a calendar booking is made. First time usage of the remote access service requires an Office desktop setup and the Refinitiv Eikon software installation. This takes maximum 15 minutes depend on your network connection! After your first-time login on a remote desktop, you can readily work with Eikon or Morningstar as a you are used to.

Please note that all Eikon passwords will be reset on the first of December 2022. Users with a personal installation of Eikon handed out during COVID can use the application during a grace period that ends at the first of December 20222.

EDSC will evaluate the remote access user experience in 2023.
