Due to construction on Tinbergen building, there are temporarily fewer study spaces available in the quiet areas of the library
Work will start on March 6 to build a bridge over the pond next to the University Library. This bridge is needed for construction traffic to and from Tinbergen building. The work will cause noise and vibration nuisance, and a safety zone is also in force during this work, including in the University Library.
Because of this safety zone, there are fewer study spaces available from March 5 at 16.00 hrs onwards. These are study spaces in the three quiet areas (south side) and through our reservation system you can see which spaces are not available. In the library this is visible by the relevant areas being cordoned off with barrier tape.
The safety zone is a temporary measure. As soon as we are informed that this zone can be removed, we will immediately make the study places available again.
We would also like to inform you that from Friday March 7 onwards, the wheels of the new study chairs will be replaced. This will also cause some inconvenience, although we will try to avoid it as much as possible by starting early in the morning.
Our apologies for the inconvenience.
