As an active supporter of open access Erasmus University Library has decided to endorse the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) for the coming three years. This will help DOAJ to develop a sustainable business model. The DOAJ provides access to high quality, open access, peer-reviewed journals.
Open access to published research and data, and support thereof continues to grow. Accordingly, we need an infrastructure that can support a publishing landscape that is steadily migrating to a state where “Open” is the default. Many open access key services, such as DOAJ, are non-commercial and far from financially secure.
Key to our reseach support
The DOAJ is a key product and we have integrated the directory in several services for our researchers. Via the Sustainability Coalition of Open Science Services (SCOSS) we support the development of sustainable funding for the DOAJ, a widely-used research service within academia.
