What does this study entail?
Do you have an artistic or musical talent, as well as a hunger for academic knowledge? Then combine art and science during a 5-year dual degree programme in Rotterdam. Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR) has teamed up with Willem de Kooning Academy (WDKA) and Codarts, offering you a unique opportunity to combine theory and practice in a five-year dual degree programme.
We believe that today’s world needs transdisciplinary experts who can address complex and multidimensional challenges. Your artistic practice will benefit from your theoretical knowledge about the arts, media, culture and sciences– and vice versa: your theoretical work is fueled by your experience as an artist. In this way, you will be trained to become a broadly employable professional in the cultural sector who, as an artist, can also tackle issues in the field of, for example, policy or work as a researcher.
Is this the right programme for you?
The RASL programme offers you the opportunity to develop your knowledge on an academic level, as well as developing your artistic skills. Upon completing this programme, you will be equipped to tackle complex and multidimensional challenges through your ability to view issues from various perspectives. In addition, your artistic practice will be enriched by theoretical insights into arts, media, and culture, while your theoretical work will be strengthened by your practical experience as an artist.
