In "Malin TV," La Rivière combines humor and history, exploring topics like Rotterdam's housing crisis, Shanghai and Shenzhen skyscrapers, and Katendrecht's first Chinese restaurants. The soundtrack features Rotterdam punk bands like Tramhaus. Don't miss this captivating cinematic experience!

PhD student Jamie van der Klaauw will give a philosophical reflection. He will touch upon the relation of Rotterdam and several contemporaries societal issues from the perspective of critical theory. For instance, should we understand the crisis on the housing market as a social pathology of our own creation? And, how does this crisis relate to the broader economic system of neo liberal capitalism?  Finally, can critical theory provide us with an orientation today still?
