The study programme in a nutshell
The pre-master Arts, Culture and Society is a highly intensive one-year programme, preparing you for the master specialisation Arts, Culture and Society. The programme focuses on three elements: theory, academic skills, and research skills. After successful completion of the programme, you get unconditional access to the master specialisation Arts, Culture and Society in the next academic year.
Bridging the knowledge gap
The pre-master helps you to bridge both the study load and the knowledge gap between your prior education and our master specialisation in Arts, Culture & Society. In the first term, you will follow the essential courses from our bachelor programme to help you get familiar with the most important sociological concepts and theories in arts and culture studies. Throughout those courses you will follow lectures and you will work in small groups during tutorials to fully grasp the learning materials.
Duration of the programme
The pre-master takes one year. During this year you are required to obtain 45 credits (EC). This gives you the time to adjust to the pace of studying at our university while getting ready for the following master specialisation.
Teaching language
All pre-master specialisations and courses are taught entirely in English.
