Housing support for international students

Although we see it as our responsibility to help out our international students the best way we can in securing housing, Dutch law does not allow us to use our budget to build our own student housing. We therefore depend on third parties and we work together with various accommodation providers and reserve rooms with them to offer to our students.

Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR) has approximately 1200 reserved rooms, covering about 25% of the yearly incoming international Bachelor, (Pre-)Master, and exchange students. We currently work with the following accommodation providers: SSH, XIOR, RoomPlaza, ISHR, The Social Hub and Student Housing Willemskade.

Eligibility

You are eligible to apply for reserved housing if you meet all of the following conditions:

  1. You are going to start your first year and study at EUR;
  2. You don't have the Dutch nationality; (a dual-citizenship including the Dutch nationality means not eligible);
  3. You are new to the Netherlands, you have not completed your prior education in the Netherlands, and you currently live abroad;
  4. You are (conditionally) accepted to your study programme;
  5. You are 30 years old or younger at the start of the academic year
    (If you are 30 at the start of the year, you remain eligible. If you turn 31 before it begins, you are not)

NB. For bookings at SSH faculties can add additional requirements for approval. They will inform students about these requirements. For all the other reserved accommodations providers the above mentioned requirements apply.
