prof.dr. OR (Olivier) Marie

Biography

Olivier Marie is Professor of Labour Economics in the Department of Economics at Erasmus School of Economics, Erasmus University Rotterdam, where he is also Research Director of the Health and Labour Group. He is a research fellow of the Tinbergen Institute, IZA Bonn, CEPR, and CESifo Munich. His research lies at the intersection of labour economics, the economics of crime, and public economics. Using quasi-experimental methods and large-scale administrative data, he studies how economic opportunities, policies, and institutional biases shape individual life trajectories, with a focus on crime, education, and immigration. His work has been published in among others the Journal of Political Economy, the Review of Economic Studies, the American Economic Review: Insights, the Journal of Economic Perspectives, and the Review of Economics and Statistics.
