For more than twenty years, bond traders, fund managers, regulators and academics gather to discuss interest rates. Founded in 1996, the Vereniging Rente Gilde (the Dutch craft’s guild for professionals working in fixed income markets) now has 55 members. Banks such as Kempen, insurers such as ASR and asset managers such as Robeco have been represented for years.

'Tonight is a special evening', says chairwoman Mary Pieterse-Bloem, Professor of Financial Markets at Erasmus School of Economics and Global Head Fixed Income in the Global Investment Center of the Private Bank of ABN AMRO. 'Someone from the press is present for the first time in history.’
