During this year’s PhD workshop, students will learn to scrape sports data and use machine learning techniques with R. The teachers include Sophia Gaensle, Sam Hoey, Michel van de Velden and Steve Salaga.
The teaching sessions will start in the afternoon of Monday 19 and end Wednesday 21 August just after lunch time.
On Tuesday afternoon, there will be a panel discussion on navigating the post-PhD job market featuring recent candidates and recruiters from Europe and the US.
Both the private and academic market will be discussed with special attention to sport economics and management positions.
