Abstract
Portion sizes have increased over the years, and cause an increase in energy intake. Also, it is questionable whether the healthy choice is the cheaper and therefore easier choice. Ingrid Steenhuis is professor Prevention & Public Health at the VU University and has conducted several RCT’s in the food environment with the aim to decrease energy intake and prevent overweight and obesity. During the seminar, she will present about her work into portion size and pricing strategies (i.e. effectiveness of a sugar sweetened beverages tax).
