This year the EUR is starting a pilot with the owner of a student housing building at the Willemskade in Rotterdam, Student Housing III cv.

This building is located in a lively area with restaurants, bars and grocery stores with a great view on the river Maas and public transport right next to the building. The 7-storey building offers housing for in total 165 residents.

Around 50 rooms will become available with the start dates 1 December, 1 January, 1 February and all with the fixed end date of 30 July 2024. For those rooms we will prioritize at first Spring Exchange students and only if there are rooms left we will offer those to other students who meet the criteria.

When:

On Monday 18 November the first rooms with the start date of 1 December will be published and open for booking. On Thursday 21 November additional rooms with the start date 1 January and 1 February will be published online and available for booking.

Make sure you meet the allocation criteria, which you find on this website below. Students who don’t meet the allocation criteria will not receive a booking voucher!

Selection

Spring exchange students will be prioritized for the rooms at Student Housing Willemskade and will receive a booking voucher at first. Other students who have shown their interest will receive a booking voucher as of 13 December to book one of the left over available rooms. 

Also only students who meet the allocation criteria will receive a booking voucher. 

With this voucher you can book a room on the KLIKenHUUR (CLICKandRENT) booking website. Students who are not selected will not receive an email.

We want to emphasize that every voucher is personalized and cannot be transferred to someone else. Also the voucher can only be used once.

STEP 1: Register

After you have received a voucher you first need to register as candidate tenant on KLIKenHUUR by creating an account, filling in your personal details and by paying a € 35,- fee (with Credit or Debit card).

STEP 2: Booking

After you have registered, you can apply for an accommodation at Studenthousing Willemskade Rotterdam that mentions “Voucher”. You need a voucher to apply for these rooms.

For these rooms the following applies: the first person that chooses a room and finalizes payment, will get the room. By booking a Voucher room using your voucher, you automatically book the room for the fixed rental period that is mentioned in the advertisement. Please note that it is not possible to extend or terminate your contract!

STEP 3: Payment

To secure the Voucher room, you need to pay directly through the KlikenHuur website. You have to pay an amount that consists of the following:

  1. The rent for the first month;
  2. The deposit, as a warranty for the owner of € 1250,-. The deposit will be returned at the end of the rental agreement if the room is clean and undamaged;
  3. Mandatory amenity package of € 300,- which includes:

    a. Final cleaning: a cleaning at the end of the rental period;

    b. Complete kitchen package: This package contains all essential kitchen utensils including crockery, cutlery, plates etc.

    c. Complete linen package: This package contains all necessary bedding, including a pillow, duvet cover, fitted sheet and pillowcase.

STEP 4: Signing the contract

After the payment is finalized, you will receive, within 2 days, a rental agreement and several attachments by email. You will be requested to sign the rental agreement, within 2 days!, digitally. After you have signed the rental agreement, the owner of the house will sign the agreement and then the rental is finalized.

Room rates

There is a large variety of rooms with different sizes and views and prices that range from between € 650,- till € 1000,-. This is an all-price which includes: furniture, utilities, taxes, internet, television etc. Registration at the municipality is mandatory for rental contracts exceeding 4 months. 

Rental periods

The rooms can only be booked for a fixed rental period and the fixed end date will be 30 July 2025. It is not possible to extend or early terminate.

Each room advertisement specifies its fixed rental period, which may be one of the following:

- 1 December 2024 – 30 July 2025 (rooms will be published on 18 November)

- 1 January 2024  - 30 July 2025 (rooms will be published on 21 November)

- 1 February 2024 – 30 July 2025 (rooms will be published on 21 November)

For the rooms we will prioritize at first Spring exchange students and after this, if there are still rooms available, we will offer them to Bachelor and (Pre-)Master students (who meet the allocation criteria) as of 13 December 2024.

Studenthousing Wilemskade Rotterdam offers 136 fully furnished rooms with, in most cases, your own private bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. You’ll share the kitchen with various housemates that live on the same floor.

The rooms are furnished with their own refrigerator, bed, desk, cupboard, chair and TV.

In the basement there is communal bike shed and a laundry facility which can be used by all residents.

  • you are going to start your first year and study at EUR;
  • you don't have the Dutch nationality;
  • you are new to the Netherlands, you have not completed your prior education in the Netherlands, and you currently live abroad;
  • you are (conditionally) accepted to your study programme;
  • you are not older than 30 years.
  • Spring exchange students will be prioritized for the rooms that will become available in December 2024 and January/February 2025.

Once you have made a complete booking it is not possible to early terminate your tenancy agreement anymore but only in case you are deciding to stop with your study at EUR and only after approval of EUR. If this is the case, please send an email to: rotterdam@househunting.nl
