EcoCoin is the 1st ever sustainable currency launched on a campus. The purpose of EcoCoin is to motivate and reward students who are committed to sustainable and socially responsible activities.
EcoCoin is a platform consists out of four main elements. Primarily, users have an overview of a variety of activities they can do. Upon completion, users can verify these through a QR code or our social media. Second, users can track the EcoCoins collected as well as their CO2 reduction impact in their wallet. Third, users can spend these EocCoins on rewards provided by one of our many partners, varying from free cinema tickets, discounts on groceries and other consumer goods to free haircuts or a 20% discount on shoes, there is something for everyone! Lastly, users can see how they are performing in a ranking of all users, which also shows a team ranking in which students represent their faculty.
