Steve believes in the transformative powers of social arts that questions dominant truths and give way to a multitude of perspectives. He focuses on the role of radical imagination within DIT, the ability to imagine the world as it can be.
Steve Elbers
Project Manager Radical Imagination in Transition
Steve Elbers studied Ethnic and Minority Issues at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. As a true jack of all trades duizendpoot he build up a rich scope of professional experiences and practices in different profit and nonprofit organizations. The last few years he worked as program manager Arts and Culture at the DOEN foundation. Being an alumni of a Masterclass Transition management at DRIFT, he helped to create the organizations vision and practices on transitions. He is used to work pro-actively, bottom up and in always in dialogue to reach goals.
He takes up the challenge to build a bridge between social art (and design) practices with the power of radical imagination and (scientific) transition practices, assuming that using added values of both domains increases transformative power and thus transitions to a sustainable, fair and resilient world. In this sense he has a positive world view and loves sharing, frayed edges, nature and a good laugh.
