As a DIT academic, Laura focuses on how universities can embed sustainable systems thinking at their core through relational communication dynamics and their effect in action for sustainability.
Laura Ripoll Gonzalez is an Assistant Professor in Governance for Sustainability, part of the Team Governance and Pluralism at the Department of Public Administration and Sociology (Erasmus School for Social and Behavioural Sciences). Laura is also an EU Marie Curie individual research fellow. Laura is an engaged researcher who combines insights and has expertise in the fields of public administration, place branding and sustainable regional development. Laura’s BRANDSUS EU project uses mixed methods (quantitative and qualitative) and action research to understand stakeholder engagement dynamics to inform co-creation in place branding processes. She is particularly interested in citizen participation in governance for sustainable regional development. Next to her work at Erasmus University, she is a Research Adjunct at the Griffith Centre for Social and Cultural Research, Australia.
As a DIT academic Laura focuses on how universities can embed sustainable systems thinking at their core. As a communication scholar and sustainability scientist, Laura’s main interest is in relational communication dynamics and their effect in action for sustainability. This includes framing and branding of sustainability, co-creation in sustainability branding and inclusive communication. She is working on co-creating a framework informing communication professionals practice in their everyday communication for sustainability.
In addition to her work, Laura enjoys spending time with her family and friends, playing clarinet, hiking and reading.
