Julia is a driven public administration graduate with a passion for sustainability. During her masters she undertook internships at both DIT and the Municipality of Rotterdam. During this time she conducted her thesis research on clothing overconsumption by young adults and discovered her interest for experimental research and designing interventions.
At DIT, she is involved in a wide range of educational and research projects. She focusses on sustainable fashion research and education, contributing to the development of an educational program dedicated to sustainable fashion. Moreover, she is involved in creating new connections between the arts and academia for transitions.
As a researcher, Julia has a passion for experimenting with different methods and designing interventions that are aimed at creating just and positive impact. She enjoys working with a wide variety of people and believes in learning from others perspective. Outside of her professional endeavors, Julia finds relaxation in various creative outlets such as painting, pottery, and dancing. As an activist, she regularly participates in events and protests advocating for the environment, rights of the queer community and equality.
