Why did you want to join the University Council?
I wanted to join the University Council to ensure PhD students are well-represented. It’s important to have the Erasmus MC perspective included, especially given my experience in both student and faculty councils. After three terms as a student and four in the faculty council, I’m now in my first term as an employee.
What issues will you focus on in particular?
My main focus will be on the interests of PhD students, addressing challenges such as work-life balance, funding difficulties, and lack of career development support. These issues have been overlooked for years.
What is the importance of participation in your opinion?
Participation is essential for ensuring that diverse voices are heard. It creates a platform where staff and students can shape policies that impact their daily work and study lives, especially in a multidisciplinary environment like ours.
